| Many of our weathervanes are available in different finishes. Polished copper, if left unprotected will start "browning" in a couple of months and continue to weather over time, developing the patina that is sought by collectors. Some people opt to use a high quality, exterior, clear finish to help keep their new weathervane ornament shiny. Oxidized copper has been treated to make a new weathervane ornament appear older. This process "browns" the copper and adds some of the green patina that normally comes from exposure to the elements. Verdigris or Antique copper has been treated to a green finish that covers most of the new weathervane ornament. |
